In the heart of Rheinhessen grapevines grow in vineyards, some of which have belonged to our family for nearly 200 years. We are paying respect to humans and nature with a sustainable and resource-saving approach to winegrowing. At the same time we are successfully implementing innovative ideas – an approach that arouses interest.
Distinctive vineyard sites and soils characterize our wide selection of wines from 21 grape varieties. More than 60 wines and sparkling wines of the highest quality mature in our impressive wine cellar. The diverse range of our wines is characterized by expressive fruity white wines with a distinctive varietal profile and warm, full-bodied red wines with a strong character. Our special bonbon: fruit-sweet red and white wines, refreshing and fruity.

A wine that transforms deserts into forests
In our search for a project that promotes agriculture in disadvantaged areas, we found what we were looking for. Behind the technical term FMNR method lies ingenuity. The roots of former deforested trees have great potential. Effective reforestation in Africa is possible with simple means. In the meantime, an area almost as large as England has been replanted with this method. Not only are new trees growing where trees were cut down years ago. The inhabitants can also plant food again, actively provide for their income and have new hope. We are thrilled!
With our high-quality climate wine ROOT, we support the sustainable reforestation project of Tony Rinaudo, who was awarded the Alternative Nobel Prize for his work, in collaboration with World Vision.
By purchasing the climate wine, you too become a supporter. For every bottle of wine, € 2,-- goes directly to the project.
The renowned filmmaker Volker Schlöndorf was so impressed by the idea that he accompanied Tony Rinaudo and his project with his camera.
As part of our wine presentation, we will be showing his documentary film "The forest maker" at the Bali cinema in Alzey on 26 May.

Carlo Wine Award from FAIR'N GREEN
The sustainable wine award that protects endangered species
The international wine competition CARLO Wine Award honours outstanding achievements in sustainable wine production. The award combines various wines with sustainability attributes. Wines that can be submitted for the award range from historical grape varieties and cultivation methods to new grape varieties and non-alcoholic wines.
The CARLO Wine Award is organised on a non-profit basis, with all proceeds going directly to species conservation projects. The award is organised by Fair and Green.

Wine description
Juicy Chardonnay with a delicately spicy chanterelle note. The freshness and light fruit of ripe apple go perfectly with the fine acidity structure.
