CLIMATE WINE ROOT 2021 (No. 107)
SAINT LAURENT RED WINE DRY - SPIESHEIMER OSTERBERG

A wine that turns deserts into forests.

It's back: the climate wine from the Jung & Knobloch winery. Wine enjoyment with added value!

In our search for a project that promotes agriculture in disadvantaged areas while actively protecting the climate, we found what we were looking for: FMNR. The acronym stands for ‘Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration’. The idea behind it comes from Australian agricultural economist Tony Rinaudo, who was even awarded the Alternative Nobel Prize for his work. The problem: in many regions of Africa, trees are felled to make firewood or to sell. The result is arid areas and depleted soils where food can no longer grow. FMNR is as simple as it is ingenious: shoots grow from the roots still in the ground, enabling effective reforestation. Local farmers can then resume effective agriculture on their own initiative. The further spread of arid landscapes, poverty and hunger is halted. The potential is enormous: to date, 22 million hectares of land worldwide have been reforested using the FMNR method – an area almost the size of the United Kingdom. We are thrilled!

With our high-quality climate wine, we support this visionary reforestation project in cooperation with WorldVision. By purchasing our climate wine, you can also help: €2.00 from every bottle of wine sold goes directly to FMNR.
